Carolyn (Charlotte)'s obituary

Carolyn (Charlotte) Louise Smith Mitoma, passed away on February 6, 2022 following a rapid progression of dementia. A warrior throughout life, she was 71 years old. Originally from Yuba City, CA, Carolyn was born to Patsy Ann Hammons and Willis Smith. Carolyn studied at Chico State University, and later met Greg Kruse. They wed in 1972, going on to have 3 children, Kim, Chris, and Sean. Carolyn loved to cook and bake and had a passion for the outdoors and traveling. Camping and kayaking were favorite pastimes. Finding love again, Carolyn wed Ken Mitoma in 2013. They experienced many travel adventures together, circling the globe from China to Madill, Oklahoma. Carolyn is survived by many loving family members including husband Ken Mitoma, daughter Kim Maher and her husband Dave Wiltz, son Chris Kruse and his wife Sara, son Sean Kruse, stepdaughter Nikki Mitoma Soto and her husband Gustavo, and grandchildren Shannon and Amanda Maher, Josh, Ian, and Kathryn Wiltz, Cleo Kruse, Kaiven, Katherine, Skye, Ira, and Maki Soto, and siblings Rubi Abrams, Willa Smith, Ralph Smith, Max Velte, and Lisa Velte. We will miss her greatly. A Celebration of Life event is being planned for late Spring and we will update our memorial website with that info as soon as we have it.
