Carolyn's life was one of caring, understanding, and genuine kindness, always putting others before herself. Her positive outlook on life and the lessons she shared, "Let go and Let God, be kind to others," have left a significant impact. Carolyn's legacy will undoubtedly be a legacy of kindness and maintaining a positive attitude in the face of adversity.
Carolyn is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Debbie Jansen, her granddaughter, Taylor Jansen, and her grandson, Derek Cobb. She is also survived by her brother-in-law’s Richard Jansen and Pieter Jansen. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Jens Jansen, in 2018 and whom she married in 1969.
A woman of many interests, Carolyn was passionate about many things. She enjoyed Thai food and desserts and often sipped on water or a Rum and Coke. A dedicated reader, she loved any book with a great storyline and cookbooks, a testament to her love for cooking. Music brought her joy, especially Lionel Richie and Whitney Houston's songs. Among her favorite TV shows were Reality TV and Grey's Anatomy.
Carolyn enjoyed playing Uno and backgammon. Her creative side found peace in reading, crocheting, and appreciating oil paintings from local artisans. She loved traveling, with Amsterdam, cruising, and the mountains being her favorite vacation spots. Carolyn also cared deeply about animal and human welfare, showing her nurturing and empathetic nature.
Carolyn's accomplishments included being a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), a wife, a mother, and a cherished 'Miemie.' Her favorite color was purple, reflecting her warm, caring, thoughtful, and loving personality.
The news of Carolyn's stage 4 cancer diagnosis in mid-February was an unexpected ordeal for the family. However, we ensured she felt loved and cared for during her transition. Her positivity and kindness will forever be remembered, and she is greatly missed.
