Carolyn's obituary

Beloved Wife, Mother, and Sister, Carolyn Ann (Gregory) Gurr, 66, of Mesa, AZ, passed away on the morning of July 26th.  after a valiant fight with cancer.

Carolyn was born on August 30, 1954 to Richard & Georgia Gregory in Henderson, Kentucky. She met her eternal companion, Jerry Gurr, when they were both attending BYU, and they wed in 1973, going on to have 13 children.

From a young age Carolyn knew she wanted a large family. She always had her heart and home open to any spirits Heavenly Father wanted to send her. Carolyn loved music and art, and was determined each of her children should have them in their lives. She spent countless hours and made many sacrifices to support her children through the many passions and difficulties of their lives. She made it her mission to improve the lives of others, on both sides of the veil. Carolyn was a passionate Temple and Family History worker, and when she wasn’t serving her loved ones on Earth, she could be found at her desk searching for deceased family names to take to the temple. We will miss her greatly. Carolyn was predeceased by her parents Richard & Georgia Gregory. She is survived by her devoted husband Jerry Gurr, her loving siblings James (Jimmy), Richard (Bub), and Mari-Sue (Susie) Gregory, brother-in-law Robert (Bob) Gurr, sisters-in-law Selena Gregory, Pat Masters, Carolyn Johnson, Eilene Johnson, Leesa Sasser, Lori Egbert, Julie Souter, and their spouses Ron Masters, Mark Johnson, Kevin Sasser, Parris Egbert, and Steve Souter. She is also survived by her adoring children John, James, Jeremy (Ging-Ging), Joshua (April), Jason (Jontiel), Jeanette Jameson (Devin), Justin (Rachel), Jessica Clawson (Nathaniel), Judith Hall (Justin), Jonah (Samantha), Jacob (Jessica), Jared, Jordan, 46 grandchildren and great-grand children. The family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to their home at 953 E Volk Ln. San Tan Valley, AZ 85140. Donations for funeral expenses would be greatly appreciated. There will be a graveside dedication at 8am at the Mesa Cemetery, followed by a Celebration of Life at 9:30am at the LDS Chapel listed above.
