Carolyn was just a few years older than me and I looked up to her as the cutest newlywed to my brother, Jerry. She was beautiful, dressed so cute, worked in an office and I looked up to her. I remember her telling me that when she was being interviewed for different jobs, when they would ask, "Can you do this or that", even if she couldn't, she would say, "Sure, I can" because she said she knew she could learn it if she tried, that was so inspiring to me! She pierced me and my 2 younger sisters ears with a needle and an ice cube when we wanted our ears pierced so badly. She was my yw's leader for a while and her lessons were so inspiring and powerful. She got so sick when she was pregnant, but never wavered in her desire to have children, and she loved her children with all her heart and was such an amazing, devoted mother. She was the cutest wife to Jerry and was the cutest home-maker. Everything she touched just blossomed. She lived in Florida by us and she was the best gift to our little church branch as it grew. She could play the piano, put on a beautiful meal, and do most anything that was needed in our branch . She was so capable. She had the strongest testimony of the gospel that radiated light wherever she went. If I were to use one word for Carolyn it would be Valiant. She is such a Valiant daughter of God. I love her with all my heart!
I don’t even know how to do this. My mind is so full of so many memories. I can’t even think of my teen or early adult years without her being mingled in those thoughts. She was my bridesmaid, there when my first child was born, by my side when I was recovering from surgery. She welcomed us into her life again when we moved to Arizona. Come as you are Pajama conferences. So many wonderful moments shared. I Love her ever so very much!

I was so sad when I heard the news of Carolyn's passing. My heart and prayers are with you all. Her and my mother have been friends since they were children together. That automatically made all of us friends and playmate with Carolyn's children. I will never forget trips to Disneyland, building Legos, reading books in secret bookcases and watching My Turn On Earth. I pray God will grant each of you peace as you deal with the passing of such a beloved soul.

I will miss our conversations about how to store certain foods.
