Carolyn's obituary

Carolyn Glenda Greene 75, beloved wife, mother and aunt, passed away peacefully, Monday, March 5, 2018. Carolyn was born October 17, 1942 in Portland, Oregon. Carolyn is survived by her husband John Greene and son David Greene, both of Waco, Texas. Carolyn is the daughter of Hope & Glenn Chandlee, both deceased.
Carolyn’s teen years were spent in Bandon, Oregon where she attended Bandon High School, graduating in 1960. Carolyn graduated from Oregon State University in 1965 with a teaching degree. She was a member of the Alpha XI Delta sorority at Oregon State. Carolyn met husband John at a summer dance in 1957. Four years later they were married in Bandon and were off to OSU to finish college. Out of college, Carolyn taught grades 4-6 in Beaverton. John’s work and graduate school took her first to Boise, Idaho and then to the Chicago area. Carolyn taught grades 1-4 at Elmwood Park, Illinois. While there she made many friends with long lasting relationships.
Carolyn loved children, and as such engaged with the children of close friends and relatives, becoming beloved “Aunt Carolyn” to so many. Carolyn was a fighter, beating cancer twice and living with diabetes and conjunctive heart failure for many years. She will be missed by so many.
