Carolyn L. Claxton, age 76, went home to be with her Lord in the early morning hours of April 19, 2020. She was born on March 4, 1944 in Italy, Texas to her parents, Thelma L. (Johnson) Knotts and Marlin A. Knotts.

Carolyn was married to her loving husband, David for 57 years and together they raised their four children. She enjoyed cooking, playing dominoes, attending church and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her love of cooking, especially her turkey and dressing at Thanksgiving. Carolyn had a vibrant personality that filled the room. She was a character who did not like losing a game of dominoes. Her family laughed as they recall her accusing others of cheating while she was caught padding the domino score in her team's favor . She will be deeply missed and the memories she created with her family will be forever cherished.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, David Claxton; son, David Lynn Claxton and wife Andrea; daughters, Lena Raley and husband Chris, Lana Gunter and husband Daniel and Shonda Waller. She is also survived by nine grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two sisters.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2020 from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Chapel in Italy.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M., Friday, April 24, 2020 at Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Chapel, 800 S. Ward Street, Italy, Texas 76651. Interment will follow at Italy Cemetery.
