About Project Horseshoe Farm

Project Horseshoe Farm is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with sites in Greensboro and Marion, Alabama, and a coming site in Pomona, California (Summer 2020). Our mission is to work with and build on the strengths of local communities, improve the health and quality of life of our vulnerable neighbors, and prepare citizen service leaders for tomorrow's communities.

One of our nation's greatest strengths is the teachers, healthcare providers, and other local leaders fighting hard on behalf of their communities. To help them in their fight, Horseshoe Farm partners and brings our time tested approach to strengthening education systems, health systems, and local communities. Our approach is built around a pioneering paid "gap year" Fellowship that is mobilizing a generation of top recent college graduates from across the nation to serve as they learn to become leaders in community health.

Since our founding in 2007 as a small after school program, we have worked to build a scalable new model the that is changing the trajectory of community health here in rural Alabama and has the potential to change the trajectory of community health across our region, state, and nation. Thank you for your interest and support.
