Caroline's obituary
Caroline “Carrie” Lundstrom (nee Wisowaty) age 78, formerly of Calumet City, IL, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 9, 2023. She was the beloved wife of Walter “Bud” Lundstrom, loving mother of Mark (Kim) and Jason (Laura), and cherished “Bobish”(Grandmother) of Abby, Naomi, Emma, Noah and Nolan. She was the beloved sister of Kathleen (Ronald) Lundstrom, Leonard (Michele) Wisowaty, Gregory Wisowaty and Sandra Wisowaty. Beloved aunt to many loving nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents Leonard (Whitey) and Gloria Wisowaty.
Carrie graduated from T.F. North High School in Calumet City. She began her career working at NIPSCO Gas Company. While on a blind date set up by her sister and brother-in-law, she met her future husband. They were married for 47 years. Carrie retired from her job to become a stay-at-home mom, baseball coach, and caregiver to many family members throughout the years. In addition, she was very talented in making flower arrangements and ceramics and sold them at weekly craft shows throughout the Midwest.
In her later years, she enjoyed rooting for her favorite teams, Notre Dame and the Chicago Cubs. She looked forward to getting together with family, playing poker with her cousins, friends, and of course at the casino. She looked forward to her daily evening phone calls with family. She became a grandmother and babysitter to 5 beautiful grandchildren and shared her love for music, dancing and cooking with them. She became the one and only “Bobish”. The name was the pronunciation of “Busha” that her oldest granddaughter gave to her. She enjoyed watching all their activities and they raved about her crumbly pancakes.
We know she is up there playing poker with her parents, grandparents and aunts. She will be deeply missed and her memory will live on in family and friends. The family will be hosting a memorial luncheon on Sunday, 3/19/23 at the American Legion in Calumet City from 2-5 pm.
