Caroline's obituary

IN MEMORY OF CAROLINE (BOYER) CROWLEY

Caroline Elizabeth (Boyer) Crowley, age 58, of Wyandotte, died Monday, March 8, 2021, at home, surrounded by her family. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Joseph (Erica) Crowley, Jr., Lindsey (Brian) Smith, Casey (Jara) Crowley, and Dustin (Emily) Crowley; her greatly-beloved grandsons, Connor Smith, Keane Crowley, Jude Madson, and Jon Joseph Madson; her siblings, Xecca Boyer and George (Kelly) Boyer, III; Ex-husband Joseph Crowley, Sr.; and her nieces and nephews, Courtney (Shannon) Crowley, Kristin (Greg) Fernandez, Caitlin Crowley, Ian Crowley, Kelsey Boyer, Christina Boyer, and George Boyer, IV.

Caroline was born September 30, 1962, in Dearborn, the daughter of Claire and George Boyer, II. She studied at Henry Ford Community College and worked for several years as a cosmetologist while raising her children. In 1996, following in her parents’ footsteps, Caroline began her career at Ford Motor Company, which lasted 25 years. As a proud UAW member, Caroline was honored to be a second-generation Ford employee, daughter of former UAW members, Claire (first skilled trade woman at Woodhaven Stamping) and George (millwright at Rouge Steel). Making her own mark, in her final job, Caroline was the first female Heavy Press Operator at the Ford Dearborn Stamping plant. Another career highlight was when she was featured in this role as part of a 2018 History Channel documentary about Ford Motor Company, Born Tough: Inside the Ford Factory.
Caroline enjoyed crocheting, making many creative articles for her family and friends. Primarily, though, she preferred spending time with her family, at home or on the road. Caroline would gladly hop in her vehicle and travel to visit her kids, grandchildren, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was a warm, loving woman, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who will be dearly missed.

Caroline was preceded in death by her parents, Claire and George Boyer.

In accordance with Caroline’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life is planned at the Downriver Council for the Arts in Wyandotte on Saturday, March 13, from 2:00-7:00 pm.
