Carole Michelle Lynn Thiesen passed away on March 25, 2025 at the Rockyview General Hospital. Carole was a bright light, filled with humor, joy, and kindness. She had a spirit for adventure and travel, and wanted to see the world and have unique experiences. Carole also enjoyed a good book, a nice glass of wine and spending time with her children Koen and Veronica, as well as her third child, Summer, her beloved golden retriever. 

Carole was born on July 7, 1970 and was raised in Calgary, attended Crescent Heights High School, and went on to complete two bachelor degrees (Zoology and Sociology) at the University of Calgary. She made many lifelong friends from school and through her time as a lifeguard and swim instructor with the City of Calgary. Later on, Carole transitioned into a career in HR, and she most recently worked at Energy Safety Canada. In her spare time, Carole loved the outdoors and spent as much time as possible hiking in the mountains and taking many camping trips with friends and family with Summer by her side.  Words cannot express the sadness now felt by her children and by those who knew and loved Carole. 

Carole is survived by her two children, Koen and Veronica Steer, her sisters Kimberly Gardippie (Dean), Jennifer Trofimuk (Terry), nieces Kayla Gardippie, Charlotte Trofimuk, and nephew Charlie Trofimuk. She was predeceased by her parents Leonard and Marjorie Thiesen.
