Carole's obituary
Carole Anne Lowing (née Shea) passed away at the age of 78 in her Pennsylvania home on November 5, 2024.
Carole was born on May 8, 1946, in New York City and grew up in Sunnyside, Queens. She is preceded in death by father, William P. Shea, mother, Mildred A. Shea and sister, Joan M. Hall.
She is survived by son, David R. Lowing of Pennsylvania (daughter-in-law, Sarah), daughter, Jessica Lowing Rosenberg of Virginia (son-in-law, Avram), son, Ryan W. Lowing of Arizona (daughter-in-law, Erin) and five grandchildren: Sullivan, Oliver, Reise, Rhylie, and Louis.
After graduating from Manhattan’s St. Vincent Ferrer High School in 1963, Carole pursued nursing and was a proud alumnus of Bellevue and Mills School of Nursing, receiving her registered nurse diploma in 1966. She later earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Philadelphia University graduating Summa Cum Laude in 1989. Carole was a life-long learner and secured other recognitions including a certification as a legal nurse consultant from Manor College and accreditation as a hypnotherapist from the American Board of Hypnotherapy. In most recent years, she worked as a health aide, providing compassionate care and company for individuals in their homes.
Throughout her life, Carole loved being active and enjoying the outdoors. She treasured opportunities to dance, celebrate her lifelong friendships, gather during the Christmas season with family, and vacation in the Adirondack Mountains in upstate New York where she relished fishing for rainbow trout.
Carole will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Family and friends will be received at the James O.
