Carole's obituary
Carole Lerner was born on November 21, 1954 on the South side of Chicago where she lived for only a brief period before moving to the north side. The majority of her youth was spent in Skokie, where she graduated with honors from the now-defunct Niles East High School. As a teenager she learned about the world of high commerce as an employee of Chicken in the Rough on Dempster. She preferred Poochie’s over Big Herm’s.
Carole attended the University of Illinois before receiving her nursing degree from Evanston Hospital. Her nursing skills took her to UCLA Medical and Cedars Sinai but ultimately she became an entrepreneur, working with law firms analyzing medical records in lawsuits.
As a resident of Santa Monica for about 40 years, Carole was a regular at the 7th Street Stairway and an avid hiker in the Santa Monica mountains. Her crossword puzzle acumen was legendary. She loved her nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews so much that she patiently tolerated numerous trips to Disney Land.
Carole was beloved by family and a plethora of friends. Her righteous cynicism and compassion will be greatly missed.
