Carole's obituary

Family & Friends, it is with the most unfathomable sadness we share the news that Carole Lehnerz, passed away on March 25th, 2023. A Mother, Meemaw, Daughter, Sister, Aunt & Friend, she was and forever is, the epitome of sunshine in human form. She embodied it in everything she did. With quick wit & infectious laughter, she could sing like an angel, and lived with a vibrancy for loving those around her. To know her is to love her, and I know the love we all have for her can never be expressed in proper words.

Carole is survived by her children, Meghan Johnson, Marcus Lehnerz & Nicholas Lehnerz. Her grandchildren Domani, Nico, Skylar & Theo Johnson. Her parents Edward & Antoinette Gwinn. Her siblings, Lori Pyott, Butch Gwinn, Bill Gwinn, and Kristine Apple, and their amazing spouses. Her nieces & nephews. Aunts. Cousins. And many more extended members of our beautiful family.

Carole is described as the “sweetness of the family” and the “Energizer battery of Love”. Throughout her life, she displayed incredible acts of strength & perseverance while standing up for what she believed in, and amazing courage while facing her biggest fears. She was loyal and true to those who confided in her and taught us all how to find strength in our steps and belief in our dreams.

In this life, she took on some amazing challenges, and found beauty in doing things she loved and was passionate about. She was an avid cyclist, golfer & hiker, and could often be found enjoying her favorite activities. Among her favorites were completing a 100-mile bike race in 2022, and the annual Tour de Vineyard with her friends. She ran countless 5k’s and made it tradition to do terrain races. She built her home in Arizona & made it a haven of love & light for her family to descend upon. She loved music and enjoyed going to as many concerts as possible. She loved to dance & sing and passed her love of music on to so many. Her laughter is one of our favorite songs, and she always made us marvel at the things she set out to achieve.

Family is and forever will be the most important thing to her. And she would make it known to all that her biggest accomplishment in this life is her children & grandchildren. She was generous with her kindness but would fiercely lay down her life for them. She taught us the value of ambition. The power of love and laughter. To define bravery by finding the strength in our steps. The courage to live a life we looked at with authenticity and pride. She showed us the peace in stopping to smell all the flowers, and to enjoy the beauty of fuzzy little bumblebees flying by. She taught us how to bake. How to sing. How to enjoy terrible dancing in the kitchen. Just by being herself, she taught us joy, and radiated cheer.

She was taken from this life entirely too soon, but because of her, we were taught love, in the absolute most beautiful of forms. And one of the things we now take the most pride in is waking up each day saying to ourselves, let’s take on this day, and go Live like Carole.

A Celebration of Life will be held on July 21st, 2023, at 4:30pm, at Church Ranch Event Center. Please join us to embody the beauty that Carole forever is and share the love we all have for her. And while RSVPs are not required, if you are able to do so, it would be greatly appreciated.
