Carol Anne Van Orden, 81, went to be with our Lord on January 10, 2021 after a long battle with alzheimer's.

Carol was born on January 7, 1940 to Fred and Gilberta Miller in Elmira, NY. After graduating from Elmira Free Academy, that same year met her husband of 63 years Augustus E. Van Orden. Carol was the mother of five children, Augustus, Terri, David, Thomas and Lori.

When Carol had Augustus, being a woman of true faith she decided to dedicate her life to being a wife and wonderful mother. Carol excelled at supporting her family and helped all of them through many passions and difficulties in their lives. Making many of her own sacrifices, she made it her mission to improve the lives of others. She retired after working many years for the US Postal Service at the Accord, NY Post Office.

Carol enjoyed many outdoor activities including gardening, hunting, fishing and golf. Some great memories were made with her close friend Mary playing euchre and sipping strawberry wine in the "picnic area" at her home in Wawarsing. She loved to sing and dance, we will all remember her singing along with the radio to a variety of songs. To her children she was more than a mother she evolved into our confidant and best friend. We will miss her greatly.

Carol was predeceased by her parents and younger brother Jake Miller. She is survived by her sisters Barb and Sharon, brothers Chuck and Luke.

There will be a private graveside service held by the family at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Elmira, NY.
