Carol Joann Ubel, 73, of Blaine, MN, passed away on October 8, 2023. She was a loving mother and grandmother and her kids meant everything to her. Carol had a successful career as a daycare provider and an IT professional and later enjoyed her retirement by indulging in her passion for crafting. Her creativity shone through in the beautiful creations she made and sold at local shops. Carol was also an avid golfer and spent many winters down south pursuing her love for the sport.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Melinda (Mindi) Joppru, son-in-law Conrad Joppru, son David Ubel, daughter-in-law Melanie Braxton Ubel, and granddaughter Kensie Ubel. She also leaves behind her sisters Janet Hoffer, Mavis Shannon, Cindi Foster, brother-in-law Ron Foster, sisters-in-law Gail Thorson, Carol Thorson and several nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her father Lester Thorson, mother Evelyn Thorson, brothers Leslie Thorson, Manly Thorson, Gary Thorson, sister Marion Thorson, brother-in-law Jon Hoffer, brother-in-law Jim Shannon, step grandson, Aaron Joppru and niece Amanda Foster.

Carol attended Alida Primary School and later graduated from Bagley High School. Throughout her life, she held various positions, including running an in-home daycare and working for Montgomery Ward department store where she loved wrapping the Christmas gifts; and the American Academy of Neurology in IT services.

A private memorial service will be held for immediate family only. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation.

Carol's warm presence, artistic talents, and love for her family and hobbies will be deeply missed. She is in our hearts forever and may she rest in peace.
