Carol Lynne Oare, 81, of Gulf Breeze, Florida, passed away on April 24th, 2023. Carol was born on October 9th, 1941 in Macomb, Illinois to Claude and Cora McCormick. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, brother Gerald McCormick, and daughter Kathleen Suzanne Oare-Marshall. Carol is survived by her children, Jill Oare Hashbarger, Mark Oare, and Timothy Oare, her sisters, Sue Heiser and Anita McCormick, and her brothers Rodney McCormick and Brian McCormick. She is also survived by her 9 grandchildren, Samantha King, Whitney Hethke, Kevin Oare, Trey Marshall, Ashley Oare, Colton Oare, Cora Hashbarger, Grace Hashbarger, and Gabrielle Hashbarger.

Carol graduated from Central High School and went on to attend the Julia F Burnham School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse, specializing in pre-natal care, and was beloved by her colleagues for her compassionate nature.

In her free time, Carol enjoyed gardening, sewing, gaming, baking, and her love of baseball, especially the Chicago Cubs. She was known for creating clothing for her grandchildren's dolls that were Cubs attire. Her handmade clothing was treasured by her family.

A loving grandmother and mother, Carol will be remembered for her unconditional love and dedication to her family. Nicknamed "Zelle" due to her love of gaming (and especially the game Zelda), she was a fun woman to have as a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 26th, 2023 at 1pm at Oakwood Cemetery in Macomb, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Carol's memory.
