Marty's obituary
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Carol "Marty" Lanoux Jr., better known as Marty, who departed this life on January 31, 2025. Born on April 27, 1964, he lived a life full of generosity, joy, and love. Marty was a radiant soul whose personality was best described as kind, funny, caring, outgoing, and friendly, with a willingness to help anyone and everyone.
Marty's legacy was one deeply rooted in the world of baseball, a sport he was profoundly passionate about. A devoted coach and skilled player himself, he loved to share everything the game had to offer along with various life lessons to his players. He regarded his involvement in baseball not only as one of his greatest accomplishments but also a platform to touch and influence numerous lives positively.
Undeniably, his most cherished achievements revolve around his family. Marty was a devoted father to his children, Mady, Caleb and Jake Lanoux, who survive him, celebrating him as a phenomenal father figure who imparted wisdom, love, and kindness. He is also survived by his parents, Carol and Brenda Lanoux, sister Susan (Paul), brother Brian (Kim) and many nieces and nephews.
Over the years, Marty demonstrated an unwavering, deep devotion to his family and friends. His faith in people and his remarkable ability to connect with others are part of his legacy. His memory will live on through the countless lives he touched. His children and his baseball legacy are testimony to the life he led and the values he instilled and upheld.
Marty's spirit and love for life will be deeply missed. His life was an epitome of love, humor, and making the world a better place. As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate the extraordinary life he led. Rest in peace, Marty. Your memory will forever be a guiding light.
A memorial service to honor Marty will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025 at First Baptist Church of Orange Park. Visitation will begin at 10am, followed by the service at 11am. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
