Carol E Laflash, 84, of Rutland, passed away on Sunday, July 19th after a short illness.

Carol was born on July 10, 1936 to Leroy and Leah Blanchard in Millbury, MA. She was the oldest of two siblings, Roy and Beverly. She went on to have two sons, Mark and Danny, with her late husband Ronnie. Years later she became a grandmother to Katrina, who sadly passed away in 2016.

Through the years, Carol enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved her sons Mark and Danny with all her heart. Throughout her life, she was especially close to her sister Beverly, with whom she shared vacations and fond memories. Carol had many nieces and nephews who adored her. Many referred to her as their second mother, which warmed her heart.

Carol enjoyed going to bingo and playing cards. She appreciated the peace and quiet of a puzzle and the ritual of her daily programs. Carol found joy in the beauty of nature. She would hop in her Buick and take scenic drives to enjoy the changing seasons of New England, sometimes stopping for a picnic lunch. She was a woman who loved the simple things in life. She will be greatly missed and in our hearts forever.

Carol was predeceased by her husband Ronnie, brother Roy, and granddaughter Katrina. Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Mark Blanchard and his wife Karen of Oakham MA.; her son, Danny Blanchard of Oxnard CA.; sister, Beverly Santagata of Cape Coral FL.; many loving nieces and nephews; and friends.
