Carol's obituary
Carol Ann Fuller Knowles passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026. Born in Macon, Georgia in 1943, Carol’s journey was defined by her adventurous spirit, her family, and her love for volunteering and every single holiday.
A proud graduate of Mesa High School, Class of 1960, Carol made her mark early. She was crowned the Arizona Junior Maid of Cotton, a testament to her poise and beauty, and she was an exceptional sharpshooter, earning several marksmanship awards during her youth. In the mid-1960s, Carol moved to Orange County, California, where she enjoyed being a fashion and runway model.
In 1968, Carol relocated to Spokane, Washington, where she raised her 3 children, drove a school bus, and spent many years volunteering for the Welcome Wagon and Booth Memorial Hospital, where she provided support and care for unwed mothers.
After moving back to Arizona in 1986, she worked her way up the corporate ladder to become the General Manager of Valley Coach, which ran the Sky Harbor Airport Employee Bus System.
Carol is survived by her devoted husband, Michael Scott Knowles; her children, Jeanette, Jimmy, and Steve McKee; and her stepsons, Ryan and Brandon Knowles. Her legacy of love continues through her 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her brothers, Steve and Chris Fuller, and her sister, Heather Fuller. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert “Don” and Joyce Fuller; her brother, Kent; and her sister, Cindy.
Carol will be remembered not just for her accolades or her career, but for her love for the outdoors, which included water skiing and many peaceful hours fishing at a stream or on the lake. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will take place in the near future.
