Carol Lorraine (Hansen) Haydon, 77 of Spanaway, WA, born June 27, 1944 in Long Beach, CA to Clyde L. Hansen and Ruby Beth Jensen, died peacefully on October 14, 2021. She leaves behind her husband Clifford A. Haydon, sons Shannon Letteer of Bear, DE, Glenn Letteer (Petra) of Ogden, UT, David Letteer of Tacoma, WA, Kevin Haydon (Wendy) of Greensburg, KS, daughters Kelly Kettenring (Pat) of MS, Richelle Gollaher (Tyson) of West Point, UT, step children Keith Haydon (Kelly) of Spring, TX, David “Bruce” Haydon of Lakewood, WA, Lisa Chambers (David) of Seattle, WA, step-father Harold Marion Dougal of Boise, ID, brothers Robert Lee Dougal of Eagle, ID, Harold Michael Dougal of Eagle, ID, Stephen Dougal of Boise, ID, Scott Dougal of Boise, ID, and many nephews, nieces, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Carol grew up in Boise, ID and graduated from Borah High School. After a brief marriage to Lyle Edward Letteer Jr., she married Clifford A. Haydon on November 22, 1972, and in the early 1980’s, moved to Tacoma, WA. She spent her entire adult life caring for her children and several of her grandchildren. She loved animals and nature and had many pets throughout the years. She took time to notice and enjoy things such as colorful flowers and leaves. One of her proud moments was playing the clarinet in her high school band at the 1962 World’s Fair in Seattle.
Carol was a constant pillar and source of strength in the lives of her family. All family members knew they could call or text message her anytime for advice, or just to talk and share pictures. She was a very active member of Bethel Church of the Nazarene in Spanaway, WA and enjoyed participating in church activities. She will be dearly missed and remembered by her family and many others.
