Carol's obituary
Carol Gulliford
April 29, 1945 – April 15, 2025
It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Carol Gulliford, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, who departed peacefully on April 15, 2025, just shy of her 80th birthday.
Carol was born in Portland, Oregon, on April 29, 1945, and raised in Burlington, Washington—a place that remained dear to her heart throughout her life. She graduated from Burlington-Edison High School in 1964, where she formed friendships and memories that lasted a lifetime.
She shared a strong and loving bond with her husband, Alfred Gulliford, her partner in life’s journey. Carol’s faith was an integral part of who she was. Rooted in her Lutheran upbringing, it gave her comfort, courage, and purpose.
She was known for finding joy in life’s simple moments—getting her hair done with her daughter, enjoying nights at the casino, attending church services, and spending time with the people she loved.
Carol was part of a blended family that she loved deeply. She was the proud mother and stepmother to six children: Robert McKay (and wife Tracy), Karen McKay, Daniel Gulliford (and wife Kathy), Darlene Gulliford, Donald Gulliford (and wife Elsa), and Darrell Gulliford.
She is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren—Shyne Chandler (and husband Ted), Kayla Gulliford, Robert Gulliford, Cody Moeder, Collette Moeder, Maria Sanchez, Christy Vogel, and Tyler Vogel; her great-grandchildren, Charlotte Chandler, Noah Gulliford, Antonio Jimenez, Juliett Jones, Rhett Moeder and; and her great-great-grandson, Mateo Jimenez.
Carol’s legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her warmth, strength, and unwavering love.
