Carol's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Carol Lynn Freeman, a beacon of strength, resilience, and love. Carol was born on September 8, 1946, and peacefully left this world on October 1, 2023 as the deer frolicked in the yard and the hummingbirds danced in the air - her favorite things to watch.
Carol will forever be remembered through the stories and memories of her family, which include her two daughters, K. Deborah Land (husband R. Mike) and Julia Davis (husband Matt). Her warmth, laughter and obstinance will be missed by her sisters, Helen Carter (husband Robert) and Dianne Sullivan (husband Bobby), and will continue to inspire her four beloved grandchildren, Jason Eldridge, Jessica Shawver (husband Logan), Emily Wilson (husband Parker), and Grace Davis.
Carol was preceded in death by her father, Richard I. Cottle, mother, L. Evelyn Hair and her dear husband of 59 years, Delbert "Deb" Freeman. Carol and Deb embarked on their journey as life partners in 1964 and remained inseparable until his departure, falling more in love with each other hour by hour and day by day. They were each other's world.
As a woman of many interests, Carol cherished the simple pleasures offered by nature. She loved mowing the lawn, picking up sticks, watching the humming birds and any activity that allowed her to bask in the great outdoors. The color orange held a special place in her heart, a color as vibrant and lively as her spirit. A lover of travel, she held fond memories of her trips to the emerald landscapes of Ireland and other locations with Deb.
She loved the Lord with all her heart and never started a morning without giving thanks and praise to him. Her Daily Light has seen such wear and was one of her most valued possessions. Through all that she experienced in this last year in particular, she always put her faith in the Lord and knew she would go Home when the Lord deemed the time was right. She looked forward to going Home and being with the Lord and her beloved husband.
There was a gratitude in her heart for Trinity Presbyterian in Montgomery for being a supportive and loving church home for both Carol and Deb after his retirement from the ministry and for Friendship Baptist for the love and care and family that they provided Carol and Deb through the many years of their life together. And, the friendship and fellowship of the Ramer Methodist quilters meant the world to her and she so very much enjoyed her time with them.

Her legacy of a deep and abiding love for the Lord and the world He has wrought will forever be cherished and remembered by her surviving family and everyone whose lives were touched by her remarkable spirit.
