Carol's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Carol Anne (Glidden) Finley on October 1, 2025. Born on August 16, 1945, Carol lived a full life, filled with love, laughter, and a sense of curiosity that touched the lives of all who knew her. She also had a rebellious side, which may have landed her in some trouble a time or ten.
Carol was known for her joyful spirit and quirky sense of humor, always quick with a kind word or a delightful story. Her knowledge on a wide array of subjects was well-known amongst her circle, making conversations with her perpetually fascinating.
Beyond her undeniable intellect, Carol was a woman with a passion for life's simple pleasures. She had a voracious appetite for reading, her bookshelves bursting with books from a multitude of genres. Her interest in crime dramas highlighted her fascination with intrigue and mystery, while her love for home improvement showed her love for creating a warm, welcoming ambiance at home.
Carol leaves behind a loving family, who will forever cherish her memory. She is survived by her brother Ingvar Vikan, sister Sheri Porter, daughters Penni Hoffarth, Heather Bennett, and Kendra Lamb, and her sons Galen and Damon Finley. Carol has many grandchildren and even a few great grandchildren. Each of them have been deeply touched by their mother's zest for life and her boundless love, even through the many hardships that shaped her life.
Carol was preceded in death by her father, Roger Glidden, mother Griselda (Delores) Vikan, and her sister Kathy and brother Bruce.
Carol's passing is a profound loss to all who knew her, but her radiant spirit will continue to shine bright in the hearts and minds of her loved ones. Her memory will remain a beacon of joy, love, and wisdom, forever lighting the way.
