Carol's obituary
Carol Fergus passed away from cancer early September 3. She had recently celebrated her 88th birthday in the hospital with her family. She was born and raised in Ojai, the 2nd of five children of Margaret and Gerard Dieges,
devoted parents who imparted their theosophical concepts in practical ways.
Carol had an outstanding career in fashion design after attending Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles. One of
her first jobs (Jantzen Swimwear) took her to Portland, Oregon where she met her husband, Bill. They had three
girls together. Two years after their last child was born Bill succumbed to injuries from an auto accident. As a
young widow Carol bravely continued on with her design career and raising her daughters alone but with her
parents’ and family’s emotional and physical support.
The top named fashion brands she worked for were Elizabeth Stewart Swimwear, Jantzen, JAG swimwear, Marika
bodywear, SPEEDO, and Gilda Marx.
She is survived by her daughters Siobhan Fergus and Meghan Morier of Cedar Park,TX and Maureen Fergus of
New York, NY. As well as two grandsons, Toby and Roland, two granddaughters, Madeline and Miranda, and one
great-grandson, Elijah.
