Carol's obituary

Carol Jean Carver-Norred passed away peacefully at the age of 75 on May 19, 2024, in Spokane, WA surrounded by her family. Born on November 2, 1948, Carol dedicated her life to her family and community, touching the lives of many with her kindness and generosity. Carol graduated from Corcoran Union High School in 1967 and later pursued higher education at Eastern Washington University. Her professional career was marked by her service at the Airway Heights Corrections Center as a Correctional Officer and an adjunct teacher, followed by her role as a substitute teacher in local schools. Carol’s commitment to education and rehabilitation was a testament to her belief in the potential of every individual. Her life was not only defined by her professional achievements but also by her personal interests and relationships. Carol was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her sons, Rodney Carver-Williams (Karen) and Kenny Carver (Ann); daughter, Kara Allen (John); grandchildren, Diandra Kissack (Josh), Rhiannon Williams, Courtney Carver (Megan), Keaton Carver, John Angelo Allen, Austin Allen, and Jaxin Allen; and great-grandsons, Miko Kissack and Cameron Carver. Carol was preceded in death by her mother, Iva Wakeley Norred; father, Ollie Norred; beloved son, David Timothy Carver; sister, Dorothy Stacy; and brother, Leonard Norred. Carol's passions included spending time with her dog Jazzy, enjoying road trips, caring for horses, watching drag racing, and watching old western movies. Her love for Disney World was also a notable aspect of her leisure pursuits, reflecting her youthful spirit and love for adventure. Contributions in memory of Carol can be made to the Spokane Humane Society, 6607 N Havana, Spokane, WA 99217, a cause close to her heart and reflective of her compassionate nature. Carol's legacy of kindness, dedication, and love for her family and community will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her.
