Background

I have been so incredibly blessed with the precious gift of being one of Miss Carol’s many lifelong friends and considered a “surrogate daughter” as she would joke. She was truly a part of our family, gracing us with her presence on our family vacations, holidays and countless family celebrations. Miss Carol’s Life truly marked us, and everyone who had the privilege of crossing paths with her, for the better. We recognize that she is so, so special to so many of you.

Our family is looking for a way to honor Miss Carol's legacy. As most of you know, Miss Carol was especially passionate about working with youth. Her time as a school counselor of 30 plus years at Blair Elementary School in Wilmington, NC was just one way she blessed kids. Another way Miss Carol ministered was leading youth small groups and working with summer Power Camp at MGPC (Myrtle Grove Presbyterian Church) where she was a member for 30 years.

Our family feels Miss Carol would have us contribute all donations to support these two organizations in her honor. 100% of donations received will go to Blair Elementary School and MGPC Youth, with donations being split 50/50 between the two. Your contributions will be used for important items like youth supplies, youth trips, kids summer camps, nutritional needs, spiritual and counseling needs, etc. etc.

Miss Carol consistently and relentlessly labored in love for the youth and their families. She really loved people. She impacted lives in a way that eternity will echo. Non-stop, throughout Wilmington, former students and parents stopped her while running errands just to tell her how much she meant to them, personally. This was fascinating and incredible to witness.

Our family would like to thank you for considering honoring Miss Carol's life in a way we feel certain would bring a huge smile to Miss Carol and to so many precious kids!
