Carol's obituary
Carol Anne Dowdy was born on April 3, 1960 in Houston, Texas to Gary and Barbara Dowdy. She attended Robert E. Lee High School and graduated from Rice University in Houston with BA degrees in Art, Art History, and English. Carol was a talented artist who specialized in watercolor painting, creating many pieces for friends and family from the 1990s through early 2000s.
After graduating she worked as a paralegal in the Houston area. She met her husband William (Bill) Robinson, an engineer, in the early 1980s, and they were married in January 1984. Carol and Bill have three children, Kyle Brooks, Daniel Bryan, and Eric Douglas. The family resided in Bellaire, Texas until moving to Marietta, Georgia in 1999.
Carol was thrilled to have three grandchildren, Clara, Mia, and Henry and was excited for another on the way. It was her greatest regret that she would not have more time to watch them grow up.
Carol has served the Lord at Sojourn Church for seven years. She enjoyed being a friend and mentor to young women at Sojourn and previous church homes.
Carol was called home by her savior Jesus Christ on February 25th after a year- long struggle with pancreatic cancer. She died at home with Bill at her side. In lieu of flowers, Carol would encourage a donation to a radio station that fed her soul for 40+ years, KHCB.org.\
Carol was survived by her mother, sister Glynda Dowdy, as well as Bill, her children and grandchildren.
