Obituary

Carol Ann Peter (née Philbrook) was born in Rockland, Maine, to parents Roland and Mary on March 25, 1943. On her thirty-third birthday, in 1976, she married her beloved husband, Rev. James (Jim) Peter, with whom she would spend the next 49 years. Their blended family included four children: Christopher Hall; Kelly Hall (grandchildren Michael, Dominic, Joycelyn, and Jada); Brian Peter; and Karen Klehr.

As a child, Carol spent much time babysitting, attending church, and …

Personal note from Carol's Daughter/Son (Kelly/Chris)

It's an understatement to say how grief stricken we are on the passing of our beloved Mother. A non-smoker, she was diagnosed July 27, 2025, with lung cancer and despite valiant efforts to get her treatment, it was too late to beat back the aggressive disease. She had a lot more life to live but remained upbeat and gracious every day of her journey.

Our hope and advice for friends and family visiting this site is to be your own utmost advocate for your precious health. Don't take No for an answer and push for what you feel you need. Trust your instincts.
