New York, Carmen Antonia Mercado (Tonita), age 82, formerly of The Bronx passed away Friday, April 12, 2024. Carmen is survived by her 3 children, Rebecca Valle-Smith, Ruben Antonio Valle, and Ronald Valle, her grandchildren, Ricardo Rivera Jr., Robert M. Rivera, Ruben Valle Jr, Nicolas Valle, Daniel Valle, Gabriel Enrique Valle, and Victor Valle, and her great-grandchildren, Laila Rivera, Lincoln Rivera, Lucas Valle, and Emma Valle, also her son-in-law, Richard Smith, and daughter-in-law Ximena Arenas-Valle. Her siblings Lydia Mercado and her beloved brother Hector Mercado (Papo).

Carmen was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, and mother-in-law, she was a friend and best friend, who loved to laugh, dance, sing, and enjoy life because she always said that life was too short, and we must enjoy it and always told us that no one can change the will of God. She will be missed, but her memory and words of wisdom will last forever in our hearts.

Funeral Services in memory of Carmen will be held on Wednesday, April 17th, 2024, as stated below:

9:15 am -Mass at St. Helena Church, 1315 Olmstead Avenue, Bronx, NY 10462

10:15 am- Interment will follow at Saint Raymond New Cemetery, Bronx, NY 10465
