Carlos Palma Obituary
Carlos passed away peacefully at home after a four-month battle with brain cancer at the age of 64. He was a native San Diegan and worked for Chula Vista Elementary School District for thirty-five years. "Mr. Carlos" was the beloved day custodian at Los Altos Elementary School for over 30 years. Carlos loved golf, the Padres, the Chargers, and the Lakers. He was an avid athlete - biking, skiing, tennis, handball, hiking, but was especially passionate about golf. Most of all he loved people and touched everyone with his heart of gold and his calm, caring attitude. Carlos was grateful for the beauty of each day to the very end of his life. With the progression of the brain cancer, he may have forgotten their names, but he always remembered his many friends and buddies and cared deeply about them.
Carlos is survived by his wife, Wendy, stepdaughters Allyn, Paula, and Emily, his daughter Summer, his brothers Art and Gabriel, sister Marie, his nieces, his nephews including Nathan, Will, and Marcos, and his cats, Kitkat and Chica.
Carlos's life will be celebrated at the National City Golf Course on the beautiful day of Friday, August 30 with a nine-hole tournament and a concert by the kindest band, The Storytellers. Interment will be Thursday September 5 at noon at La Vista Memorial Park in National City.
