Carlos's obituary
Carlos Alberto “Carlito” Matos Mojica, 60, passed away on January 3, 2026, in Orlando, Florida at Advent Health East Orlando Hospital. Born on April 22, 1965, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Carlos lived a life full of joy, generosity, and deep love for his family and community.
From a young age, Carlos embraced his faith with conviction. At just 16 years old, he accepted the Lord as his savior and was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Carolina, Puerto Rico. His spiritual journey continued throughout his life as he became an active member of Faith Assembly in Orlando. He was known for his charitable heart and regularly supported causes close to him—most notably St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
Carlos had a magnetic personality that lit up every room he entered. Known affectionately as “Carlito,” he was often the loudest voice in the room—not out of volume alone but because of the passion and warmth he exuded. His laughter was infectious, and his sense of humor brought comfort and joy to those around him. He had a unique ability to make everyone feel welcomed and valued.
A devoted father, Carlos cherished his children deeply. He is lovingly remembered by his daughters Ariel Matos, Anastasia Matos, Jasmine Matos, and Genesis Matos; and by his son Carlos Alberto Matos Junior. His love for them was unwavering and evident in every aspect of his life.
Carlos also shared a close bond with his siblings: Peter Matos Junior (brother), Rosita Porras (sister), and Carmen Rodriguez (sister). He held dear memories of their time together and remained connected to them throughout his life. He now joins his beloved parents Pedro Matos Morales and Rosa Matos Mojica in eternal rest.
Beyond family and faith, Carlos had a zest for life that was reflected in everything he did. A true enthusiast of classic cars, he found joy in their timeless beauty and craftsmanship. He also took great pride in his appearance—always impeccably dressed with a flair that matched his vibrant spirit. Traveling brought him happiness as well; he loved exploring new places and cultures, often indulging in local cuisines as a self-proclaimed foodie.
Carlos’s final words were filled with gratitude: “Thank you all for what you did for me—God bless you all.” These parting sentiments encapsulate the essence of who he was—a man full of appreciation for others and grounded in faith.
His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched with kindness, laughter, and love. May the memory of Carlos Alberto “Carlito” Matos Mojica bring comfort to all who knew him and continue to inspire joy in the hearts of those who carry forward his spirit.
