Carlos Raul Galván was born on May 18th, 1970 to Frank Z. Galván and Dorothy Louise Galván in Crystal City, Texas. After graduating from Crystal City High School in 1988, he went on to play collegiate football for the Stephen F. Austin State University Lumberjacks, while pursuing a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics.

Carlos has four children, the eldest two, Gabby and Ana, from his marriage to Michele Donier Kelley , and the younger two, Gabe and Carley, from his marriage to Stacy Ann Jones.

Carlos was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He was unendingly proud of not only his children, of the accomplishments of all those that he knew and loved.

Carlos was also a passionate coach and crafter and could often be found private coaching an Olympic-hopeful athlete or socializing with his many family members and friends.

Anyone who knew Carlos knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. Carlos will be predeceased by his father "Paco", brother Frankie, and many other adoring family members. He is survived by his mother Dorothy, his children Gabby, Ana, Gabe and Carley, and grandchildren Adina, Freya, and Emallyn, and many other loyal friends and family members.

Tentatively, the family has made the following arrangements:

1) A church-based service, that will be streamed via internet for those to wish to pay their respects. The link to watch the service will be shared via Facebook and the memorial webpage, as soon as a date and time is set (February 2021).

2) A Celebration of Life event, in Crystal City, TX in May 2021. All are invited to attend. This will be planned near Carlos’ birthday, and will take the place of a “funeral” and will instead, serve as an opportunity for those from all walks of Carlos’ life to join in fellowship, and share the memories they have. Attendees should look forward to many pictures, football highlight reels, and good times to be had by all. Details will be shared via Facebook and the memorial webpage, as soon as a date and time is set.
