Carlos Jose Chase, 78, passed away on March 28, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas, under the compassionate care of Christus Hospital. Born in Brownsville, Texas, Carlos lived a full and memorable life that touched many across generations.

Carlos was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a deep love for fixing cars—a passion that kept his hands busy and his mind sharp. Whether tinkering under the hood or offering advice to others, he took pride in his mechanical skills. At home, he could often be found relaxing in his favorite recliner with a piece of sweet bread in hand—his favorite treat that brought him comfort and delight. Cloudy days were his favorite; they seemed to match his quiet demeanor and reflective nature.

Though he was known as the quietest among those around him, Carlos had a magnetic presence. He always liked to be in the middle of the action. His love for being surrounded by loved ones was evident throughout his life. Family gatherings were moments he cherished deeply.

Carlos is lovingly remembered by his son Jose Carlos Chase; sister San Juanita Sanchez; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. His legacy continues through each of them, carried forward in stories shared and memories treasured.

He now joins those who passed before him: daughter Rosalinda Chase Ramos, his son Alejandro Pedraza Jr., daughter Sylvia Pedraza,; his father Carlton Ernest Chase; mother Paulita G. Chase; biological mother Maria E. Castro; brother Raymundo Chase; and sister Alicia Chase.

Carlos leaves behind not only family but also countless fond memories for all who knew him. His presence will be missed dearly, but the warmth of his memory will continue to bring comfort.
