Carlo was one of my favorite people in this world! I dated his son, Anthony, for two years and the four of us were one big crazy family! Carlo had many names! My daughter called him Nonno, I called him “Old Man Rivers!” He was constantly keeping us laughing and on her toes, whether he was squinting and staring at some spicy Latin lady standing two feet away, running us off the road, or telling us about some new adventure, we loved his stories and we loved loved loved having him around. The boys lived together for a long time so we did EVERYTHING together and Carlo and I became very close - often getting caught up in conversation and leaving Anthony and the baby in the dust. One of my favorite memories with Carlo, it was just he and I, we decided to hit the beach together and we had the BEST day! Carlo knew all the great spots in town, we spent the day swimming and snorkeling, Carlo loved the water! Making jokes on the beach, cracking each other up, taking pictures, etc. One thing that I loved about Carlo was that you could tell him anything! He wasn’t your average “father in law” he had lived! And he was all about having a good time! He was more like a best friend! We left the beach and went to the local Smoothie King and we sat outside telling stories for hours admiring the beautiful city and life that we had been given! THEN when it was time to leave, he went to the restroom and when he came out he said “Soooooo… I dropped the keys in the toilet, and flushed them!” We both paused for a moment and then started busting out laughing! Lol my favorite old man💛. They were Anthony’s keys, and he soon rescued us, but damn did we have a great time together. I loved Carlo with all of my heart, and he loved my daughter and I so well💕 he was the best Nonno a little girl could ask for and a joy in my life.  I wish so desperately that he was still here in this world as he truly was one of the good ones. But he made a mark on my life that I will never forget. Rest In Peace my friend, we know you’re having fun up there!

Dear Anthony and family,  I'm heartbroken at death of Carlo.  His light and sweet spirit is already greatly missed in our community.  Missing  hellos  from he and his precious Bella as I drive by in the parking g lot.  May sweet memories comfort you all through your tears.  Peaceful rest Carlo.   Carmen
Carlo was my guy! He was such a good dude, still had a young heart, will miss chopping it up with him when he came for the haircut, My prayers go out to ant & his family.  He will be missed. Love

My heart hurt to learn the passing of Carlo. His smile was infectious and only to be dwarfed by his heart. His smile would light up the room when he would talk about his boys and made you feel as if you knew and loved Anthony and Nick both even if you didn’t know one or both of them. Back in 2007 Carlo took my son to a US soccer team qualifier game, I believe it was against The Ukraine. My son (9 at the time) had bragging rights on his soccer team all season from that game.  Carlo always had a way to make you feel special whether it was a soccer game or just a call to check in on a friend. He will truly be missed by our family.

Riposa in amore amico mio🙏🏽

I didn’t know how much I would need Carlo when he came into my life.   We had tons of fun on day trips and seeing live music, but his presence saved me during the hard times.  The October snow storm and the hurricane are two examples where he pitched in and calmed my worries.

Carlo had a zest for life that was contagious.   He sought out life’s little and big adventures.  I’m grateful that I shared some of them with him.

I miss you already, Dear Sweet Carlo

I was saddened when I heard the news of Carlo's passing.  I met him several times while I was walking my dog Edison.  The first time we met was on the day he brought home that beautiful sweet puppy Bella.  He was beaming with pride and joy and I knew right then and there that he was a good man whom was going to be a wonderful dad to Bella.  On several occasions we would run into each other while walking our dogs and we would both let our dogs romp around and play together as we would both just smile and enjoy watching how similar and sweet our dogs were and it always reaffirming for me that Bella was being raised in a loving gentle manner and that was completely a positive refelection on him. To his family, friends and his dearest Bella; I send my sincerest of condolences and I thank his son for sharing new video clips of Bella.  It is heartwarming to see that the apple did not fall far from the tree and that she will continue to be loved and adored by Carlo's family.   May he rest in peace.🙏

I was lucky to have Carlo as a friend and spend his last hours with him,  I saw him very happy. We spoke only in Italian.  A great human being who wanted to give everything  I will always remember you.  Rest in peace Dear Carlo.   Riposa in pace carissimo Carlo.

Mr. Calliva, Carlo, meeting you and spending the little time we got to share on Earth was amazing. You were so kind, compassionate and felt like family because of our Italian roots. I appreciated that time in the moment, not knowing that it was our only time together. Thank you. For being a good man. For being there and living passionately, just appreciate the man you are and always will be. May you be at peace until we meet again... Much love to you and your loved ones.
