With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Carla "Casey" Mejia, who departed this world on February 24, 2024. Born on November 10, 1996, Carla was a beacon of light whose vivacity, energy, and enthusiasm illuminated and inspired those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Carla leaves behind a legacy of kindness and enduring memories that will continue to reverberate in the hearts and minds of her loved ones. Her laughter was infectious, her enthusiasm limitless, and she embraced life with an openness and joy that was truly engaging. Her absence will be deeply felt.

Carla is survived by her loving daughters, Emmie Benson and Athena Almes; her brothers, Adrian and Nicholas Mejia, and Claudio; her sister, Sofia; her parents, Aldrin and Silvia Mejia; and her grandmother, Margarita Perez and her grandfather, Rolando Perez. She also leaves behind a large family of cousins, aunts, and uncles who will mourn her loss, including Brian and Julian Zepeda, Liana, Lola, Julianna Zepeda, Rosalia, Adam, and Sebastian Mejia, as well as Mercedes Perez, Giovana Perez, Miguel Mejia, Ariel Perez, Steven Perez, Peter Perez.

Carla, fondly known as Casey to some, was a loving mother, beloved sister, and adored daughter. Her memory will not only be cherished by her immediate family but by all those whose lives she touched with her infectious positivity and radiant energy.
