Carl Richard Matthews, age 45, of Oak Ridge, TN died unexpectedly on January 31, 2023. His loss was devastating to his family and friends. 

Carl was born on January 18, 1978 to Linda Matthews and Calvin Matthews in Oklahoma. When he got older he worked as a Carpenter, which he loved very much. Carl also spent time listening to music and being a father and a step-father to all of his childern. Anyone who knew Carl, knew that he was kind, loving, caring, brilliant, awesome, funny, a great friend, uncle, and dad. He had an immense passion for giving advice and was always a source of positivity. Carl’s family and friends will miss him more than words can say.

Contributions in memory of Carl can be made to his daughter, Kera Russell. There will be a memorial service held on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023 at Harriman Community Center from 4-6pm. Please keep his close friends and family in your thoughts and prayers.
