Tommy's obituary

Tommy Collins Jr., 47, of Providence, North Carolina, passed away on October 27, 2023, in Durham, North Carolina. Tommy was born on April 3, 1976, to his mother Wanda Barber and his late father Carl Collins.

Tommy, also known as Carl Thomas Collins Jr., will be dearly missed by his loved ones. He is survived by his mother Wanda Barber and stepfather Michael Barber of the residence. Tommy leaves behind his sister Shannon Dawson (Scott), brother Joshua Collins, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was a loving uncle to Sierra Pruitt, Elijah Collins, Jeremiah Collins, Cheyenne Collins, and a great uncle to Riley McFarling and Rowan McFarling. Tommy's grandfather, Swanson Barber, also mourns his loss.

Tommy was preceded in death by his father Carl Collins, as well as his grandfathers Lawrence Collins and Irvin Hodges, and grandmothers Virginia Collins, Barbara Hodges, and Ruby Barber.

A ceremony to honor Tommy's life will be held on Monday, October 30, at 1pm at Shady Oak Baptist Church, located at 1739 Walter's Mill Rd. in Providence, NC. The service will be officiated by Reverend Kenneth Hammock. Also speaking, Billy Tate. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Caswell County EMT Services or the Providence Fire Department in memory of Tommy Collins Jr.
