Aunt Caren, I can’t believe you have left this human experience. You have been such a huge part of my life since I can remember. I feel the need to share some highlights..when my mom called to let ms know of my dad’s passing- you were the first one I called as soon as we hung up..i wanted you to tell me it wasn’t real.. You held space for our family to gather countless times after we lost Memaw. Your home was home to everyone who entered regardless of where they came from. Your generous heart was always open to your friends and family. If i was ever feeling anti social at a gathering I would come to you for a good laugh and smile! I don’t understand why the best die young AND i am so thankful that you were such a close part of my life all of these years. I will forever cherish our friendship and honor the courageous woman you were. I love you and will forever be missing a part of me with your absence. Thank you for making a difference in The lives of so many. Your courage and bravery are inspiring. I love you to the moon and back.

I met Caren at work and right away she was such a kind person. No matter how her day had been going, she always had a smile on her face. The last time we spoke before she took a leave of absence, we talked about keeping in touch and we both said how people always say that but never follow through with it. She was a good listener. She loved her family like no other. Dave was her soul partner and her face lit up when she spoke about him. She may be physically gone, but she is still alive in our hearts and I know she is watching down on everyone and would want everyone to smile. R.I.P. my dear dear friend. You truly were a blessing in disguise.
