Candy's obituary
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Candy Motley, who left us peacefully on May 30, 2024. Born on August 21, 1965, Candy was a beacon of kindness, love, and patience to all who had the privilege to know her. She will be remembered not only for her sweet nature, but also for being the kind of person who was always there when you needed her.
Candy was welcomed into her eternal rest by her beloved parents, Patricia and Charles Motley, and her brothers Benjamin, Charles, and Deryl Motley. Her spirit continues to live on through her cherished daughter, Brandea Clay, son-in-law, Chase Clay, and her precious grandchildren, Olivia Hill, Milah Hill, Gavin Clay and Bowden Clay.
Those who knew Candy will remember her for her love of reading, particularly her favorite books by Danielle Steele. She had a fondness for any crime show on television. Simple pleasures such as talking to her grandbabies, enjoying walks, and reading filled her days with joy. The color purple was a favorite of hers, symbolizing her gentle, yet strong personality.
Candy carried life lessons that she readily shared with others. Her most poignant advice was to be patient and to love someone while you can, a sentiment she lived out in her daily life. Her true legacy, however, is her kindness. It is this trait that will echo in the hearts of those who loved her, forever reminding them of the love and light that was Candy.
As we celebrate her life and honor her memory, we are reminded of the warmth and love she brought into our lives. May her sweet soul rest in eternal peace.
We are left to remember a woman whose life was a testament to the power of love, kindness, and patience. Candy Motley, you will be dearly missed but your legacy will live on in the hearts of those whose lives you touched.
