Calvin Garret "Cal" Ernest, 81, of Decatur, Alabama, passed away on April 8, 2024. Born February 19, 1943, in Memphis, Tennessee, Cal was a devoted family man and military veteran. Serving for 23 years, he embodied dedication and honor. His unwavering love extended to his children and stepchildren: Yolanda, Cal Jr, Keith, C. Davone, Te', and Shannon. Cal's legacy of love also touched his siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, and 32 grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Amy Helen and Jay Jay Ernest, and brother Alvin, a private ceremony will honor Cal's life on April 17, 2024. He'll be remembered for his enduring love, devotion, and commitment to family and country.
