Byron's obituary
December 3rd 1968 - April 28th 2019
The hardest thing for the Williams children to decide in the writing this obituary was whether we
should refer to him as “our father” or of his given name, and the fact that we had to write this so
soon. But our father was and will always be one of the most important members of our family, a
baby of his own siblings, he was at the center for us. Center of attention. Trendsetter. Traveler.
Adventurous. And always wanting to try something new. He once said there were so many of us
(five) because he wanted to be surrounded by family at all times and that he wanted that family
to share all of these experiences he wanted to have with. His favorite things were falling asleep
in the theater for Blockbuster movies, being on top of the latest conspiracy, globetrotting, and
occasionally yelling at the TV during sports season. He was a weird one, (his quirks included
collecting electronics from the 90's and his shoe collection that was larger than all of ours
combined), but so is our mother and his wife. Our mom was dutifully married to him for 29 years
as of January and I think is the most affected by our loss. But when they said “I do,” it wasn't
until death do they part, it was forever. And just like that, our dad will be loved forever.
He was more than our father, he was our Baba. More than a husband, he was our mom's
soulmate.
Byron is survived by his wife: Racquel; two sons, Egypt and Niles; and three daughters,
Neenah, Royelle, and Nuriel.
