Burque's obituary
Burque David Hansen, 63, passed away unexpectedly on November 7, 2025. He was a beloved father, brother and friend, known for his quick wit, easy charm and creative storytelling.
Born on August 22, 1962, in Bremerton, WA, to Jeanne and David Hansen, Burque grew up in Poulsbo and graduated from North Kitsap High School. A proud Eagle Scout, he carried the values of curiosity, service and adventure throughout his life. He met Joyce Holmstrom during his school years, later marrying her after earning his degree from the University of Washington. They settled in Sammamish, WA and welcomed their son, Jared. After going their separate ways, Burque met Sandra Browne, and together they welcomed their daughter, Madison.
A loyal Husky fan, Burque rarely missed a game and proudly attended multiple Rose Bowl trips to cheer on his team. He spent the majority of his work career at Boeing in Renton and retired in 2020. In retirement, he found joy in poker nights with his lifelong friends, traveling, golfing and tending to his vegetable garden. His sense of fun, willingness to try new things, and love for all things Elvis left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Burque is survived by his children, Jared Hansen and Madison Browne. He is also survived by Sydney, Lourdes, and Lucien, whom he cared for and loved as his own. Additional survivors include his siblings DeeAnn Hansen (Tim); Jill Stuntz (Tom); Rae Hansen; and John Hansen (Crystal), as well as many cherished nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Frank.
