Burl's obituary
Burl O. Lawson, age 79, of Tuscaloosa, AL, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at Hospice of West Alabama. Visitation will be at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel on Monday evening from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Funeral Service will be Tuesday at 11:00am at Englewood Baptist Church on Hwy 69S.
Bro. Randy Beard will be officiating services with Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel directing.
He is preceeded in death by his granddaughters Anna & Ava Banks, a daughter, Rita, brothers Gene, Joda, Ray, Ted, sister Cuma, and mom and dad Della and Hubert Lawson.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Betty Lawson, daughter Heather (Brandon) Banks, sons Kenny (Candra) Lawson, Scottie (Bobbie Jo) Lawson, brother, David (JoAnn) Lawson, 2 granddaughters, 3 grandsons, 5 great grand children, and a host of extended family and treasured friends.
Burl was a skilled Upholsterer by trade. This trade introduced him to people from all walks of life. He was well known by his profession, and had clients drive from far and wide for a chance to have a piece of his handiwork in their homes. He was always proud to tell others about The Lawson Chair, named after him during his years at Berkline Furniture.
Burl loved to cut up with all who knew him. His friends and family could always count on him to bring a smile with his silly sense of humor. He will be missed by all who knew him.
