Personal note from J. Bro/ Jessica

The world recently lost our love, my Buddy, unexpectedly. After 10 years of constant companionship, I left him on a Thursday, and 36 hours later he was gone. I'm gutted and heart broken, and know that he not only had a profound impact on me, but on so many other people's lives.

In efforts to soothe the pain, I'd be grateful for any photos or fun memories you'd like to share. Not only will this help those of us suffering from his loss up close, but also those far away (like his second mama, Zeynep) who are suffering from a distance.

You may be thinking 'he's just a dog.' But if you knew me, you knew Buddy, and you knew how important this dog was to me. Through constant transitions of countries, jobs, homes, states, cross-country moves, relationships, adventures, and other really challenging life shifts, Buddy was right by my side. He's been my one constant companion over the past 10 years, and though I've been preparing for his departure as he ages, the suddenness brought the reality of his role in my life to the forefront.

I feel so blessed to have had Buddy as my copilot and partner in crime throughout all of this, and so blessed by all of the ways he encouraged connection with others. Thank you for helping us to grieve in community.

Love you all so much.
