Bud's obituary
Mr. Allan DeWitt “Bud” Campbell, Jr., age 82, passed away at the Thomasville Medical Center on June 13, 2023. He was born July 11, 1940, in Toledo, Ohio, a son to Allan DeWitt Campbell, Sr. and Frances Elizabeth Patterson Campbell. He was a longtime resident of Jamestown/Thomasville.
In 1958, he graduated from DeVilbiss High School. Following high school, Bud attended Ohio State University. On July 21, 1962, he married Kathryn Myers, who survives of the home. He worked for over 30 years for Custom Finishers before he retired. Bud was truly loved by all who knew him and will be deeply missed by both his family and friends.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
Surviving in addition to his wife are daughters, Debbie Cordier (Robert) of Shalimar, Florida, Shelley Hartsell of Cornelius, North Carolina and his son, Allan “Chip” Campbell, III (Barbara) of Oak Ridge, North Carolina. In addition, Bud is survived by his 90-year-old sister, 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandsons and one on the way.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on June 24, 2023 in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point. Reverend Michael Carr will officiate. The family will greet friends at the funeral home following the service. To honor Bud, the family suggests that you attend the services wearing your favorite sportswear, baseball team jerseys/shirts and a baseball cap.
