Bryce's obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Bryce Misha Eidlin, on August 12, 2023 in Carlsbad, CA. The eldest son born to Marsha and Mike, on September 18, 1974, in Portland, Oregon. Cherished older brother to Brynne and Sean. Proud and devoted father to Oscar and sweet boy beau. Brother-in-law to Wheylin and loving Uncle to Harper and Clemmie. Nephew to Paula and Greg. Cousin to Scott, recently departed and much missed. Cousin to Drew and his wife Mel and their children Jude and Arlo. A soulmate to Gemma. Best-friend,  friend, "brother" and advocate for many. Beloved by all.

Bryce was a passionate creative who felt deeply and lived a life of unabashed, full throttled vulnerability. He never shied from expressing his thoughts and feelings. He will forever be remembered for his bright personality and love of family and his son Oscar and his big circle of friends. For his compassion, thoughtfulness, gentle spirit, desire for connection, sense of humor, stories, impersonations, jokes, and that giggle. His love of dogs, travel, music, surfing and design, interests in social justice and the gifts he so loved to give. He sought to understand and work through struggles, both self and interpersonal. Bryce lived unconventionally and true to his values, battled personal challenges bravely and head on, and we all loved and supported him as best we could.

It was through his sobriety and commitment to service, in 2017, that led him to create Brothers & Sisters of Surf, an apparel company that combined his love and passion of design and surfing with his desire to help others struggling with addiction and mental health. The last few years, he taught many people how to surf and connected them with life-saving resources, letting them know it was never too late to ask for help, and that the world was a better place with them in it. He could often be found taking photographs of the epic sunsets at various beaches in Encinitas, one of his favorite places on earth.

Bryce is forever ingrained in all of our hearts. May he rest in eternal peace.
