Bryan's obituary

Bryan Edward Newman went home to Jesus on April 21, 2022 at age 84.

Bryan was born to Otis and Marguerite Newman on December 8, 1937 in Denver, CO. As a child, Bryan sang in the Phoenix Boys Choir and earned a 4-year scholarship to the College of Music at Arizona State University. While singing was his passion, piano was not. Bryan transferred into ASU's College of Business and retained his music scholarship due to his fundraising acumen. Bryan was president of his fraternity, Phi Sigma Kappa, and was integral in fundraising for their house on New Row. He graduated in 1959 and was inducted in ASU's College of Business Hall of Fame in 1986.

In addition to being a dedicated and loving husband and father, Bryan also loved serving his country in the Air National Guard where he was stationed in Germany. He enjoyed an illustrious career in international sales, before retiring and opening art galleries in Boston, New Orleans, and Scottsdale.

Throughout his entire life, Bryan held an unwavering faith in God, and was passionate about outreach ministry and serving his community. As a long-time member of Risen Savior Lutheran Church in Chandler, AZ, Bryan sang in the church choir, helped organize concert and special events, and focused much of his time running food drives. He loved meeting for coffee with his dear friends and delivering the donuts weekly for Sunday services. Bryan joins his parents Otis and Marguerite, his brother Chet, and his son Phil, in Heaven. Bryan is survived by his wife Kathleen, children Beth (Bob), Dave, Tina (Anna), Linda (Bill) and grandchildren Ashley, Adam, Emily (Mike), Austin (Sarah), Brian, and Brad and his first great-grandchild, Henry.

Bryan's Celebration of Life will be held at Risen Savior Lutheran Church, 23914 S Alma School RD, Chandler, AZ 85248 on Thursday, May 12, at 2pm. The celebration may be livestreamed or watched at your convenience at https://vimeo.com/704349191. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Risen Savior's food drive fund or Azcend Chandler food bank directly.
