Bryan's obituary
Born in Edmonton on August 6, 1958, and raised in Ottawa where he met and married Maureen McKenzie in 1982. Bryan will be missed by his daughters, Mariel McKenzie and Danielle McKenzie, his 6 grandchildren, Zackary, Brendan, Sean, Kalan, Charley and Andrew, his sisters, Diane McIntosh (Gordon) and Susan Mantha (Michel), his nieces and nephews and many friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Muriel (Mollie) Green (1968) and Clifford Johnson Crapper (2004) and former wife Maureen McKenzie (2008).
Bryan took pride in his career in software engineering, in particular, his contribution to the Canadian Laser Camera Systems and the Canadian Space Vision Systems for the NASA Orbiter (Space Shuttle), and International Space Station assembly missions. He was an avid downhill skier and adventurer. Above all, Bryan was well known as a man of great musical talent. He will be missed at jam sessions by his daughters and friends, in particular, Chris Bassett. He will be fondly remembered by his sisters strumming on his ukulele on the beaches of Maui. His musical talents will live on as his grandkids follow in his musical footsteps and will forever cherish the memories of learning from him.
Honouring his wishes, cremation has taken place at Ottawa Cremation Services. A celebration of Bryan’s life will be held on Sunday, November 7, in his home. It will be a potluck event with music and tributes in his memory. A private family burial will take place at Pinecrest cemetery.
