I worked with Bruce at Red Cross, and he was such a kind man. I am so sorry for your loss.
Goodbye Dear Bruce
I shall always treasure the times you took me on a photo shoots looking for animals, especially the time the only photo I got was of a cow!

Very  sorry to hear Bruce left us  - I worked with him with the Red Cross for 10 years or so when he was based with us in SWMichigan.  We had many shared experiences with one of the first being a road trip to Detroit  for a meeting on his 3rd day on the  job I think.  We got stuck on I-94 due to an accident and had to sit for a couple of hours in the car so we got pretty well acquainted- fortunately we had just made a stop for gas and restroom break.  Thereafter for the next 10 years if we were traveling neither of us hesitated to say "I need a bathroom break"!  We remained friends after he left MI for the east coast and into our mutual retirements. And his photography was phenomenal - I loved hearing about his experiences and seeing the results. We last spoke in  one of our scheduled "chats" late last summer.   I was always so proud of how he was willing to experiment with different treatments for prostrate cancer - that was Bruce.  The world needs more like him.  Sincerest condolences to family - I know you all were very dear to him.

Bruce was a hero of mine, me not having big brothers of my own, whom I skied behind trying to copy his style.  I even copied the Barker brothers style of walking.  He’d drive us all skiing every week no matter the weather.  He’d keep his cool when we were fighting.  Only once did he give me a well deserved slug, when I landed a snowball on top of his head.  A great role model and great times.  We’ll miss you Bruce!

I will always remember Bruce’s sence of humor and his “flying mouse”.
Bruce was one of those special people that I've rarely met in my life. Each conversation made me feel like there was no one else in the world he would rather be talking with. His kindness to everyone and his personal love and wonder for every creature on earth is unmatched. It's been one of my greatest honors and privileged to call him my friend. Fly high Bruce. I hope we meet again.
I will miss Bruce so much. The time we spent together is a treasured memory.   Joan

When I think of Bruce I will think of Black Labs, the fly Line, His laugh, His knowledge of, and advocacy for, the natural world, and his talent for making you feel that having a conversation with you was important to him. Even though I hadn't seen him for years, it hurts knowing He is gone.
