Bruce Allen Edwards passed away unexpectedly on May 19th, 2025, after a fall in the shower, which wasn’t fatal, it was followed by a cardiac event, presumably.

Bruce was born on December 1st, 1959, in Fremont, Ohio. Son of Mary Jane Michles, he spent his teen years in the family junkyard, fixing up vehicles just enough get them running to race through the yard. After high school, he married Tammy, with whom he had two children.

Following his divorce, he decided to move to Florida, claiming there was nothing left for him in Ohio. In Florida, he loved to fight with the HOA because they knew nothing, and he knew it all. He also enjoyed kayaking and sitting on ‘his’ beach. While there, he also met his second wife, Aibin, and they were together for 12 years. They then moved to Tennessee where he passed. She survives.

Bruce left behind two beautiful and wickedly smart daughters, Amanda Howard (Glen), and Zoe Edwards; along with two grandchildren, Miranda Swift (Trey) and Ewan McConnaughey, none of whom he’d seen in many years.

While our relationships with him were complicated, to say the least, and most certainly unresolved, his death is a reminder of the complexities of family, the weight of what’s left unsaid, and the importance of showing up, for ourselves and others.

There are no services planned at this time. Bruce would’ve hated flowers and all that, so please have a drink on his behalf. His daughters would love to hear all the stories that he would’ve never told them though, so please feel free to share.
